Ocean Township Scholars
Awarded $1,000 Grants

Ocean Township High School recently announced its Garden State Scholarship Program Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar recipients.

The following students will receive a $1,000 annual award -- regardless of need -- should they continue their education at a New Jersey-based college:

Shira Amrany, Craig Bonney, Christopher Bradley, Kathleen Connelly, Danielle DeBenedetto, Michelle DeWitt, Patrick Dougherty, Michele Edelmann, Julia Garofalo, Ilene Glastein, Dina Gold, Ross Grill, Emily Grossman, Joshua Grossman, Steven Hayet, Brian Heavey, Solomon Hedaya, Tara Klein, Sarah Knittel, John Louros, Joseph McCormick, Robert Mislavsky, Mark Pearson, Rachel Pess, Rebecca Pess, Stuart Schnabolk, Pamela Sidran and John Vilanova.

Each of the high-achieving students above place in the top 10 percent of their class and have a minimum combined Scholadstic Aptitutde Test score of 1260, or they are ranked first, second or third in their class at the end of their junior year.

More than 5,000 students statewide received award offers for the 2005-2006 academic year. For these scholars, the average SAT verbal score was 670 and average SAT math score is 694.
